The end of year is the peak season for newly-married couples to purchase houses. The National Fire Aency reminds the general public to pay attention to the installation and placement of gas-operated hot-water heaters when purchasing a second-hand house or renting an apartment.
The hot-water heater shall not be installed indoors or on an extended balcony. The indoor hot-water hester shall be installed with an exhaust pipe.
If the ventilation is not lacking or the model of hot-heater is not standard, the hot-water heaer shall be inspected and maintained by a professional technician in order to preven carbon monoxide poisoning.
While using the hot-water heater, one shall check the venilation. People tend to close the windows on cold or rainy days. Please br aware of the ventilation.

"Flying sky lanterns" is a well-known festival folk activity in Taiwan. With media propaganda, people from all over the nation and the world flock with family to Ping-shi, where they celebrate the "Sky Lantern Festival" by setting off lanterns to pray for a peaceful year.
But this way of prayer-sending lanterns into the sky-requires one to ignite the fire inside the lanterns after writing down his/her hopes outside. The place for shooting is not wide enough for too many people and lanterns. If too many lanterns crowd, they might not be able to go up to the sky because of being stuck in the trees or had material quality, which leads to a safety concern. The clearn,convenient fuel of liquefied petroleum gas, commonly known as "bottled gas," is indispensable for everyday business and houshold use in the modern society. Natual gas is easier to use but has more limited heating capacity than the liquefied petroleum gas. The latter is used to cut the business costs in most of restaurants that need big fire for cooking and many laundry shops that need to quickly dry the clothing. Thus, users must be very careful. The safety measures are described through examples of fire disasters that occured on business sites.
